Harrell has announced his candidacy

I, Prentiss Harrell, am announcing my candidacy for Circuit Judge, District 2, covering Lamar, Marion, Pearl River, Lawrence and Jeff Davis counties. I have been a practicing attorney for 18 years having established a seven-member law firm specializing in business law, finance, real estate and contracts. For two terms the citizens of Lamar County have chosen me to be their prosecuting attorney. I am experienced in both criminal and civil law and I now desire to be your circuit judge.

I will bring to the bench not only a reputation for decisiveness and fairness but also one of compassion and concern. I have worked shoulder to shoulder with my fellow Mississippians from the shipyard in Pascagoula to building homes in Hattiesburg to representing clients and serving as a prosecuting attorney in Lamar County. I was born in Mississippi, educated in Mississippi and raised my family right here. I know how important it is for a community to have a circuit judge they can count on to protect their family, their homes and their businesses.

I am a member of the Mississippi State Bar Association and South Central Mississippi Bar Association. I am serving as an adjunct instructor (Business Law, Finance, Real Estate, Contacts) at William Carey College. And, I have had the privilege of serving as president of the Mississippi School of Law Alumni Association.

I have two children and six grandchildren. I am a member, Sunday school teacher and Trustee of Main Street Baptist Church. I am a former president and member of the Greater Hattiesburg Homebuilder’s Association and a member of the Area Development Partnership.
