District Attorney addresses Picayune Chapter DAR

Claiborne “Buddy” McDonald, District Attorney for the 15th Circuit Court District, was the guest speaker at the September meeting of the Daughters of the American Revolution. He spoke on Patriotism and the need for teaching devotion to our flag and respect for our country.
Patriotic organizations such as the DAR play an important role in addressing values of education, preservation and patriotism for future generations.
The DAR supports many community activities such as observing Constitution Week and Flag Retirement Ceremonies, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Local school related projects include American History Essay contests for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, Good Citizenship awards, American History awards and NJROTC awards.
