The Most Excellent Way life group brings new life to people struggling with drug and alcohol problems

The Most Excellent Way program had a great 2005-2006 Life Group season. The group consisted of several different people of all ages, colors, social status, backgrounds and genders, but they all had one thing in common: a history or ongoing problem with drugs or alcohol and a desire to be free from this addiction. It was and continues to be this desire that keeps bringing The Most Excellent Way group back together every September to start a new season of life group teaching.

The group will start it’s fourth year of teaching this September. The group consists of two sessions. The first session begins in September and ends in mid-December. The second session begins in January and ends in late May.

The life group is nine months long with a break for Christmas and New Year. The Most Excellent Way consists of three life groups: One for people seeking freedom for drug and alcohol use, one for those who have been through the group before and are now learning to serve within the group through leadership training, and another group specifically for adult family members of those involved in drug and alcohol abuse. All three groups are open to people 18 years and over.

The groups consisted of many different people. Some came once or twice and never returned. However, they are always welcome and encouraged to start again. There were those that came and grasped the teaching and fellowship of The Most Excellent Way and, as a result, have seen their lives and many others awesomely empowered and changed.

The Most Excellent Way is a life group centered around life changes. It is not a program, it is not rehab, it is not court-ordered, and it is not federally funded.

Resurrection Life Ministries has over 50 life groups to choose from each semester. All life groups are open to church members and the community. There are Bible and book studies, drama groups, fellowship groups, fishing, paintball, motorcycle groups, worship, dance, arts and crafts, women’s groups, men’s groups, cooking groups, teen and youth groups and so much more.

All three life groups of The Most Excellent Way meet every Thursday at 6:45 p.m. in the children’s building at Resurrection Life Church. The first meeting is Sept. 7 at 6:45 p.m. Call Resurrection Life Ministries at 601-798-4511 for more information on The Most Excellent Way and other life groups.
