Poplarville wins pair to open season in softball

Poplarville moved to 3-1 in Division 8-4A slow pitch softball action with a 14-6 win on the road against Forrest County AHS Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets are 15-2 overall.
Taylor Meyers was the winning pitcher, she is 14-2 on the year.
Larke Nightengale had a big game at the plate for Poplarville, hitting two home runs including a grand slam and driving in seven runs. She also had a single.
Megan Ladner had three hits, while Kayla Ross had a pair of hits as did Irena Stringer, Chelsea Theriot and Kristen Cuevas.
Poplarville hosts league leading Petal Thursday.
