Local Workshop planned

Residents of Southern Mississippi and Louisiana are invited to a free, three-day workshop involving various community design aspects of hurricane recovery.
The workshop will take place on Oct. 1-3 in Picayune at the Margaret Mead Crosby Memorial Library on 900 Goodyear Boulevard. The Mississippi Main Street Association is organizing the event which will be hosted by the Picayune Main Street Association.
The exciting workshop will address problems associated with small towns particularly those that have arisen after the hurricanes such as increase in a town’s population, as well as, how to attract and keep retail businesses open post-Katrina.
The keynote speaker will be John Shaller. Registration is still open and all interested residents are encouraged to apply.
