Lady Tide wins

The Picayune Lady Tide improved to 12-5 on the prep slow pitch softball season with a 6-4 victory over Purvis Tuesday night at home

The Tide struck first scoring three runs in the first inning.

Kellye Bolar and Brandi Rabion both walked and were followed by consecutive hits from Sarah Trexler and Autumn Jackson to score the first two runs.

Sarah Trexler later scored on a fielders choice from Wills to send the Tide ahead by three runs.  Kasey Mitchell added a run in the second on a hit from Kellye Bolar.

Pinch runner Ashunti Wright, in for Sarah Trexler scored on a single from Katie Kent.

The Tide managed one more run in the fourth after Mallorie Mixon singled, moved to second on a Bolar hit and scored on a hit from Rabion to close out the scoring at 6-4 and earn the victory.

The junior varsity improved to 4-0 on the season. 

Picayune hosts Forrest County AHS Thursday in Division 8-4A action.
