Lady Tide rolls past FCAHS

The Picayune Lady Tide finally returned to play after a week layoff caused by rain and wet field conditions with a 10-3 win over Forrest County AHS Tuesday night.
The Tide improved to 14-7 on the season and 3-1 in district play with the win.
Senior Sarah Trexler lead the 13 hit attack going four for four on the night, including two triples.
The Tide loaded the bases in the 1st inning as Kellye Bolar and Sarah Trexler singled and was followed by Autumn Jackson who walked. Hillary Dickens then hit into a fielders choice but was able to score Bolar. Brandi Rabion and Katie Kent both singled to score Trexler and Dickens. Forest County added two in the second and held Picayune scorless in the second and third innings.
Janaea Wills started the fourth with a hit that was misplayed allowing her to reach safely and then scored on a triple by Katie Kent. Kayla Bounds then scored Kent on a fielders choice. Pinch hitter Tiffany Reed singled to reach safely followed by Mallorie Mixon to set runners at first and second when Trexler hit her first triple pushing the score to 7-2. Trexler then scored on a monster hit from Jackson.
The Tide tacked on one in the fifth when Janaea Wills scored on a hit from kasey Mitchell. In the sixth Sarah Trexler hit her 2nd triple and scored on a sac fly from Jackson.
The Tide will play South Jones Thursday in a varsity only game at 6pm.
