Memorial services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Eustis, Fla., for John Lee Bankston, Jr., 85, of Tavares, Fla., who died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006.

Arrangements are under the direction of Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares.

A native of Bismarck, N.D., he was a retired mechanical engineer, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of the American Legion and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Bankston of Tavares; two sons, Dr. John Lee Bankston, III, of Tequesta, Fla., and David Allen Bankston of Land O’ Lakes, Fla; a daughter, Sue Wagner of Umatill, Fla.; a sister, Jean Ducote of Colorado, and five grandchildren.
