Adams County Circuit Clerk Marion L. “Binky” Vines has been released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond after his arrest for 13 counts of embezzlement.
Vines turned himself in to the sheriff’s department on Thursday. A grand jury in Adams County had indicted Vines, said Ross Aldridge, a state Department of Audit spokesman.
Vines is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Friday in Natchez.
Retired Circuit Judge Joe Webster of Clarksdale has been appointed to hear the case after Judges Lillie Blackmon Sanders and Forrest A. Johnson recused themselves. The Mississippi Supreme Court appointed Webster.
