Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department picked up who they thought was a man wanted in the murder of four of members of his family, but later found out the man arrested was not the suspect they were looking for.
Assistant Chief Deputy Julie Flowers said the department received a call from an individual concerning a suspicious individual asking for money to leave town. The description matched that of a man wanted in Slidell, La. in the murder of four members of his family, so deputies were sent out to conduct an arrest.
After the arrest was made, the true identity of the arrested man did not match that of the murder suspect, Flowers said. At press time, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department does not believe the suspect is in the area, Flowers said.
