Five arrested for mailbox vandalism
Tuesday of last week, the investigation into the destruction of numerous mailboxes through out the city came to an end with the arrests of five suspects.
The investigation began when police received numerous reports of damaged mailboxes within the City of Picayune. Police received reports from different areas of the city in regards to the vandalism that began on approximately June 12. The investigation revealed several juvenile suspects involved in the mailbox vandalism and police began to arrest the juveniles.
Police notified the parents of the suspected involvement of the teens. In all, this investigation solved 18 cases of vandalism to mailboxes within the City of Picayune with the arrest of five juveniles 14 and 15 years of age. The teens will go before the Youth Court to face the charges of 18 counts of vandalism against them.
