City Council sets strategic planning workshop

The Picayune City Council passed a motion at its meeting last night to set a date for the mayor and council memebers to have a strategic planning workshop.
After little debate, the council agreed upon Tuesday, July 18, as the day the workshop would take place.
In other business, the board:
— Approved to amend the April 18 minutes.
— Approved the issuance of manual checks.
— Authorized emergency repairs at the city’s offices at the former Arizona Chemical building.
— Authorized the purchase of two 2007 Ford Expeditions using funds from a FEMA loan as applied for at state contract price.
— Authorized to get more information about a budget amendment on a bond issue before discussing to amend the budget to adjust projects that need to be funded.
— Approved a Mississippi Stop Violence Against Women Program grant application from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Office of Justice Programs for $30,542 with a cash match of $10,180.
— Dismissed into executive session to discuss a contractual matter with Neel-Schaeffer about a land use study.
