American Red Cross makes appeal for blood donations
Published 9:37 pm Saturday, July 8, 2006
The American Red Cross has declared an emergency public appeal period due to a decreasing supply of blood in the Alabama and Central Gulf Coast Region. We are urging members of the public to come forward to give blood at any number of drives or donor centers around the region. Please help us notify the public of the urgent need for blood during the summer months. I’ve attached a release featuring details of the appeal, and if you have any further questions or need more information, please contact either District 2 communications specialist Evan Duffy (Office: 251-662-2581; Cell: 251-295-2396) or District 1 communications specialist Katy Akins (Office: 256-536-0084, ext. 346; Cell: 256-479-4649) for assistance.
Thanks you and please help us save lives by encouraging blood donation. When you give blood, you give the gift of life.
