Current Playoff Picture

Baseball and softball playoffs are in full swing here in Pearl River County. Here is a look at where each team currently stands.
Game one of round two of the playoffs began Thursday night as they faced South Jones. The Tide will be taking on South Jones tonight at 6 p.m. at home in game two. If a third game is needed, it will be played Saturday at 3 p.m. in South Jones. The Tide ended their regular season at 9-12 overall, and entered Thursday’s game at 2-1 in conference play.
The lady Maroon Tide is also currently in the second round of the playoffs as they took on East Central Thursday night at home in game two. If there is need for a third game it will take place at East Central tonight at 6 p.m. The lady Tide ended their regular season at 14-8 overall, and were 2-2 in conference play when they took field Thursday.
The Pearl River Central Blue Devils baseball team fell to East Central Wednesday night 5-0 in game one of their first round of playoffs. Game two took place Thursday night at East Central. If there is need for a game three, the Blue Devils will be playing at home tonight at 6 p.m. The Blue Devils ended their regular season at 17-7 overall, and had a record of 0-1 in conference play before Thursday’s matchup.
The lady Blue Devils fell to George County Wednesday night 3-2 in game one of their first round of playoffs. The team played George County Thursday night at home in game two, with game three immediately following if necessary. The lady Blue Devils ended their regular season at 19-6 overall, and are currently 0-1 in conference play.
The Poplarville lady Hornets begin round three of playoffs tonight at home against North Pike at 5 p.m. Game two will take place Saturday at North Pike at 1 p.m. If there is a need for a third game, it will take place Sunday at North Pike at 3:30 p.m. The lady Hornets ended their regular season at 13-7 overall, and are currently 4-0 in conference play as they prepare to play North Pike.
The Poplarville baseball team did not make it out of the first round of playoffs losing two of the three games against Northeast Lauderdale. The Hornets ended their season at 14-10 overall, and 7-3 in district play.
