Joy Craddock McCoy

Joy Craddock McCoy, 78, of Carriere, Miss., passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Joy was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmore Craddock and Lula Moore Craddock; brothers, Ira Craddock, Houston Craddock, Milton Craddock, Carl Craddock; and sisters, Bama Quaid, Louise Smith, and Caroline Mitchell, all of Louisiana.

Beloved wife for 56 years of John G. McCoy, a native of Slidell, La., and mother of Ricky McCoy (wife Michele) of Mason, Ohio, and Raymond McCoy (wife Karen) of Hempstead, Texas. Also survived by grandchildren, Whitney McCoy and Ryan McCoy, both of Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A native of Pearl River, La., and a residence of Carriere for 19 years, Joy was of the Baptist faith, and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Pearl River Pearls Red Hat Club and the Newcomers Club for many years.

Friends and relatives of the family are invited to attend the visitation and funeral services to be held at Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell on Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Audubon Cemetery, Pearl River, La.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
