Pearl River Community College Foundation and Alumni Services Director Ernie Lovell was the guest speaker at Picayune Rotary Club on Tuesday.

During the meeting he recognized Rotarians John Pigott for serving on the Mississippi Community College Board and Mark Stockstill as a Foundation Board member.

Lovell reviewed four extensive construction projects which are underway at the main college campus as well as satellite campus sites. He listed numerous activities either hosted or coordinated by the Foundation each year such as Scholarship Recognition Dinners, Employee Recognition Dinners, Little Black Dress Fundraiser to support Sav-A-Life Center in Picayune, and involvement in development of the new Honors Institute. There is also a new Honor’s Library.

Lovell said, “The Pearl River Community College Foundation is responsible for hundreds of thousands of scholarships dollars each year. Support for local groups like Picayune Rotary are vital for its continuing.”

Lovell recently began his seventh year as director of the Pearl River Community College Foundation and Alumni Services, and also serves in Poplarville Rotary, Partners for Pearl River County and Partners for Stennis Space Center. He is a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
