Her favorite aspect of teaching is that she has the opportunity to play a part in inspiring children to develop a lifelong love of learning.

“I want students to understand that the concepts that they are learning, even in elementary school, are developing skills that they will need to accomplish their goals in life. I also want them to understand that education isn’t just about learning, reading and math skills but about growing and developing into a person with the knowledge and skills to change the world for the good,” Williams said.

Something her students may not know about Williams is that teaching is her second career in life. Her previous career involved working as a family law attorney in Picayune for a number of years.

“I love teaching and am so grateful for the opportunity to work with the amazing faculty, administrators and staff at South Side,” Williams said.
