Gayla Speights Easterling

Gayla Speights Easterling of Port Sulphur, Louisiana went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 61 years young.

Gayla was a resident of Picayune, MS. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  She was formally a security officer at the Mississippi Army Ammunition Plant.  Her hobbies were riding horses, photography, of course the Rolling Stones, and tending to her beloved pets Duke and Jiggy.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Ray Easterling; two sons, Ryan Easterling Babin (and husband Seth) and John Camren Easterling; one stepson, Jeremy Wayne Furr; two brothers, Hayden Lee Speights and Gary Dean Speights; five step grandchildren, Cynthia Rain Kiddy, Adalyn Mia Furr, Achillies Landon Furr, Jerry Wayne Parret and Madelyn Aribella Furr and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gayla is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Murrel Speights; mother, Geraldine Burchfield Speights and one sister, Lugene Speights Burks.

Family and friends are invited to attend Gayla’s Homegoing Service on Friday, August, 13, 2021, for 4:00 pm, at  Greater Life Apostolic Church, 217 Matthews Road, Carriere, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the hour of service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
