Graveside services for S. L. Charlie Buckley of Picayune will be held, Monday, July 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at New Palestine Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Michael Kelley, Pastor and Rev. Van Bolden will officiate at the service.

S.L. Charlie was born May 1, 1953 in Picayune, MS to the late Charlie Buckley and the late Vurdee Buckley-Jones. In 1975, S.L. married the love of his life Ruby Jackson and to this union six children were born. S.L. was baptized at an early age and was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. He attended George Washington Carver High School and later graduated from Piney Wood High School in Piney Woods, MS. He worked at Crosby Chemicals for many years. S.L.’s hobbies included cooking and watching sports. His favorite teams were the San Diego Chargers and the New Orleans Saints.

S.L. Charlie Buckley entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Buckley of over 40 years; one daughter, Erica Buckley; one son, Alton Buckley; two sisters, Annie Ruth Henderson and Maggie Jefferson and granddaughter, Kenvesia Buckley.

He leaves to cherish his memories, children, Randy (Shelly) Jackson, Jason Buckley, Ken Buckley and Charlotte (Jamall) Ayers; sisters, Alberta Haralson-Parker and Charlene (Marvin) Arnold; step-sister, Orangie Lee Smith; step-brothers, Gregory Jones and Roger Jones; grandchildren, Tamarrion, Randrea, Randasia, Jason Jr., Maria, Kiara, Alexandra, Ken Jr., Charmella, Kyren, Kenny, Tiara, Richard, Classie, Jamall Jr., and Jamaya; great-grandchildren, Brandon Jr. and Kenny Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
