Walk through viewing was held Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church for Mary Blakley, age 87, of Picayune, MS, who died May 6, 2020 in Highland Community Hospital. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2020 in the Catahulo Cemetery, in Catahulo, MS.

She was a native of Catahulo, MS. She was a retired CNA at the Picayune Convalescent Home. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She served on many committees until her health failed, Pastor Aide Society, Mission # 2., Sunday school teacher, Primary Class, and Senior Choir. She worked with the Starlight Band and Vacation Bible School, an Officer, Treasury for CCHY and faithful participant with Spring Hill Triumph.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Marie Hosli of Picayune, MS; 1 adopted son, Rodney Blakely and 1 step-son Rev. Lesley Blakely Jr., both of Picayune, MS; 1 granddaughter, Renita Hosli and 1 grandson, Rashun Cooper, both of Picayune, MS; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lesley Blakely Sr.; her parents, Rev. Thomas J. and Mary Ellen Sellers Newkirk; siblings, John T., Lester, Eddie, Mattie, Jannie, Carletha, Dorothy, Daisy, and Magazine. Baylous Funeral is in charge of arrangement.
