On January 16, 1981, Carolyn united in Holy Matrimony to her soul mate, Rev. John Guy; this union was blessed with four children, Anthony, Shekenna, Sabrina, and Patrina. The family lived for 28 plus years in Biloxi, MS. While living there Rev. John Guy accepted his duty as Pastor of New Community Missionary Baptist Church, where Carolyn served as the First Lady. The family loved New Community Church Family and Carolyn served faithfully in every capacity that she could.

Carolyn was employed in the food service sector-industry for many years. She formally worked such jobs as Casino Buffet Manager of Casino Magic, Biloxi, MS. Then she was employed as Deli Manager at the Bakery/Deli at Winn Dixie also in Biloxi. She was very knowledgeable and professional in her field.

Rev. John and First Lady Carolyn joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Picayune, MS under the leadership of Rev. Louis Thomas where they served faithfully whenever possible.

Carolyn loved the Lord first and foremost, then her husband, and children and grandchildren. She was very strict and firm. “No matter what the question, Carolyn would find the answer in the scripture/Word of God”. Her most noted hobby was having family gatherings and preparing the most amazing dishes/meals for her family. The Magee-Guy family’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain.

On March 31, 2020, the Lord reached down from heaven and took Carolyn by the hand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Magee & Vera Mae James Magee; and one brother, Charles Magee.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband of 39 plus years, Rev. John Guy; four children, Anthony Guy, Shekenna (Eddie) Guy-Johnson, Sabrina M. Guy, and Patrina S. (Savannah) Guy; one sister, Betty Sue Jackson; three brothers, William Magee, Calvin Magee, Stefone (Peggy) Magee, twelve grandchildren, Sikia, JeQuanna, Anthony Jr., Jourdan, Jaidyn, Adre’Yona, D’Maize, Khari, Shanice, Emonie, Ely, and Exavier; two great-grandchildren, Kaidyn, and Bailee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and of course, many many friends.
