Graveside Funeral Services for Barbara Jean Furr, age 87, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, were held Monday, April 20, 2020, at 10:00 am at New Palestine Cemetery.

Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. R.T. Buckley officiated the service.

A native of Picayune, MS, she was a retired bookkeeper for several accountants and the Army Ammunition Plant at Stennis. Barbara was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Picayune, and was a member of the Truthseekers Sunday School Class. She loved the mountains in Tennessee, her flowers and working in the yard, reading, the New Orleans Saints, and spending time with her family. Barbara was a loving and devoted aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and friend to many, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Furr and Grace Whitman Furr; her sister, Bettye Ann Mabie; and her niece, Regina Lynn Mabie.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted niece and nephew, Barbara Ann (Ronald) Jones and Michael Don (Vanessa) Mabie; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kerry Cortez, Jonathan (Jessica) Jones, Charlie (Glenda) Jones, and Chris (Anna) Mabie; her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Bryce Henderson, Ethan Henderson, Jesse Cortez, Madison Cortez, Karsen Robbins, Leagon Robbins, and Tera Mabie; and Charlie’s fur babies, Hank and Bella.
