The Senior Center of South Pearl River County is collecting donations for the annual spring garage sale, scheduled for March 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The center is accepting all kinds of donations, including furniture, clothes and knickknacks, said Participation Coordinator Kathleen Penton.

The center holds biannual garage sales to raise funds for programming. The garage sales are one of the bigger fundraisers the Senior Center holds, along with the annual senior games, said Penton.

Funds raised in the spring garage sale should help defray the cost of renting a van to take seniors on an outing to Biloxi in late March, Penton said. The center tries to offer outings once every quarter, but those trips depend on the weather.

Donations can be dropped off at the center, which is located at 45 El Patch Parkway.

Shoppers can pay for the items with cash or check the day of the garage sale.
