Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Weems Chapel Untied Methodist Church for Rose Lee Gipson Whitehead, age 95, of Picayune, MS,  who died Sat. February 8, 2020 in Picayune, MS.  The Rev. Robert Pittman will officiate at the service.  Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Cybur, Mississippi, she was a licensed beautician. She was a member of the Weems Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as an usher. She was also a member of the Mississippi Independent Beautician Association, Inc. She owned and operated Whitehead Washeteria.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Joe B. Whitehead, Jr (Sonia) of Bowling Green, OH and Jackie F. Whitehead (Doris) of Picayune, MS; four daughters, Martha Whitehead, Geraldine Whitehead, Mildred Whitehead, all of Picayune, MS, and Dr. Jessie L. Whitehead of Huntsville, AL;  one  brother;  Rev. John Goss (Lou) of Picayune, MS; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grand children and 13 great-great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in  Weems Chapel United Methodist Church.  Baylous Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangement.
