Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church 3354 Jackson Landing Rd., Nicholson, MS, for Joidy Janelle Watkins, of Carriere, MS, who died February 18, 2020 at her home at age 69-years-old. 

The Rev. Tyler Nick will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Turtleskin Cemetery in Hancock County, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A native of Sherman, TX, she was a cosmetologist, she owned and operated Hair-IT-IS, in Nicholson, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church and an adult Sunday school teacher. She was very active in all activities.

Survivors include daughter, Darby Watkins of Carriere, MS; 1 grandson, Patrick Stockstill of Carriere, MS; 1 sister, Tarjbee Nix of Picayune, MS; nieces, Matilda, Melinda, Tara, Megan, Amber, Kayla; nephews, Amos, Jessie, James, Derrick; great-nieces, Grace, Abby, Lexi, Sienna; great-nephews, Brody, Levi, Ryder, Gunner; sister-in-law, Regina Nix; brother-in-law, Roger (Linda) Nix, all of Picayune, MS; 2 aunts, Betty Dufore of Slidell, LA and Wonder Jones of TX. 

Preceded her in death by her husband Mark Watkins; parents, Ira and Alice Mitchell Watkins; brother-in-laws, Johnny and Bruce Nix.
