A Vermont man was arrested by a Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department deputy for possessing marijuana and alcohol.
Maj. Marc Ogden said the arrest took place on Jan. 5, at 2:39 p.m. when deputy Ron Bridges saw a southbound vehicle on Interstate 59 displaying a Tennessee tag.
A stop was conducted on the vehicle, where the deputy spoke with the driver, 20-year-old Will Rahill of 148 VT Route 12, Middlesec, Vt. While speaking with Rahill, the deputy noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, leading to a search.
In that search, the deputy found 119 grams of marijuana and an alcoholic beverage, Ogden said.
Rahill was arrested for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of alcohol by a minor, Ogden said.
