Picayune Veterinary Clinic provides a full range of medical care for cats, dogs, horses, swine and even exotic pets. Odom said she plans to add a Digatherm services to the business within the next three to four weeks. The new equipment will help staff identify points of inflammation in pets, which will help indicate areas where arthritis or soreness is causing the animal pain.

Staff can also utilize the clinic’s digital radiology, endoscopy, in house laboratory and laser therapy to help diagnose what may be ailing a person’s furry family member. Staff also have access to the clinic’s ultrasound machine to help diagnose internal problems.

While the clinic can give pets baths and simple shave downs, there is currently not a groomer on staff. Nail trimming is offered.

This week, she will start offering walk in services on Saturdays. Previously the business was only open on Saturday by appointment, but public interest in being able access the clinic’s services on a walk in basis prompted Odom to make the change. Odom said that starting Nov. 2 the clinic will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Odom employs 19 people full time.

The business, located at 2507 Highway 43 S., is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Staff can be reached by calling 601-798-7706.
