A sack lunch fundraiser will raise money for the family of police officer Glen Agnelly, which is set for this Friday.

Laura Agnelly, Glen’s wife and the mother of their five children, passed away on Sept. 12. Agnelly was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Her diagnosis came only a few weeks after she gave birth to her youngest child. The fundraiser will help the family with medical and funeral expenses, said Blue Knights MS Chapter IX President David Ervin.

The Sack Lunch Fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jack Reed Park in Picayune and is being hosted by the Picayune Police Department officer’s association, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and the local chapter of the Blue Knights international law enforcement motorcycle club. Glen Agnelly has worked for both the police department and the sheriff’s department, Ervin said.

The sack lunch will cost $10 and includes a pulled pork sandwich, bag of chips, dessert and a drink. All proceeds will go to the Agnelly family, Ervin said.

“I just encourage everyone to come out and support this young family,” Ervin said.
