General election candidates

Pearl River County residents who are not registered to vote should note that the voter registration deadline for the general election is Oct. 7. The general election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Statewide

In the race for Mississippi Governor, candidates include Jim Hood (D), Tate Reeves (R), Bob Hickingbottom and David R. Singletary (I).

For Lieutenant Governor, the candidates are Delbert Hosemann (R) and Jay Hughes (D).

For the office of Mississippi Secretary of State, Johnny Dupree (D) is running against Michael Watson (R).

In the race for Mississippi Attorney General are Jennifer Riley Collins (D) and Lynn Fitch (R).

In the race for State Auditor, incumbent Shad White (R) is running unopposed.

For State Treasurer, candidates are Addie Lee Green (D) and David McRae (R).

In the race for Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, Rickey L. Cole (D) is running against incumbent Andy Gipson (R).

In the race for Commissioner of Insurance, Robert E. Amos (D) is running against incumbent Mike Chaney (R)

Southern District

For Southern District Public Service Commissioner, Dane Maxwell (R) is running against Connie Moran (D).

Incumbent Tom King (R) is running unopposed for Southern District Transportation Commissioner.

 

In the race for 15th District Attorney, incumbent Hal Kittrell (R) is running unopposed.

Candidates for State Senate District 40 are incumbent Angela Burks Hill (R) and Thomas Lehr (D).

Incumbent John A. Polk (R) is running unopposed for State Senate District 44.

In the race for State Senate District 47, incumbent Joseph M. “Mike” Seymour (R) is running unopposed.

For State House of Representatives District 93, incumbent Timmy Ladner (R) is running unopposed.

Jansen Owen (R) is running unopposed for State House of Representatives District 106.

In the race for State House of Representatives District 108, incumbent Stacey Hobgood Wilkes (R) is running unopposed.

Incumbent Melinda Bowman (R) is running unopposed in the race for Chancery Clerk.

In the race for Circuit Clerk, incumbent Nance Fitzpatrick Stokes (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for Coroner, incumbent Derek Turnage (R) is running unopposed.

Incumbent Mike Patten (R) is running unopposed for County Prosecuting Attorney.

In the race for Sheriff, incumbent David Allison (R) is running against John Tank Herring (I).

In the race for Tax Collector/Assessor, incumbent Gary Beech (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for District 1 Supervisor, candidates are Russell Foster (R), incumbent Donald Hart (D) and Jimmy Buckley (I).

In the race for District 2 Supervisor, incumbent Malcolm Perry (R) is running against John Ernest Stringer (D).

In the race for District 3 Supervisor, incumbent Hudson Holliday (R) is running unopposed.

Jason Spence (R) is running unopposed in the race for District 4 Supervisor.

In the race for District 5 Supervisor, incumbent Sandy Kane Smith (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for South East Justice Court Judge, incumbent Donald D. Fail (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for North Justice Court Judge, candidates are Benjamin Breland (R), Max Hardberger (I) and Joe Smith (I).

Incumbent John Mark Mitchell (R) is running unopposed in the race for South West Justice Court Judge.

In the race for North District Constable, incumbent Danny Joe Slade (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for Southeast District Constable incumbent Ray M. Bennett (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for Southwest District Constable, incumbent Jason Hunt (R) is running unopposed.

In the race for Pearl River County School Board of Trustees District 3 Board Member, Mark Herring is running against Tiffany Windham.

In the race for Pearl River County School Board of Trustees District 4 Board Member, incumbent Jeffery A. Jones is running unopposed.
