Danny H. Wheat, 66, passed away at his residence in Purvis on Monday, September 2, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Picayune with interment in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery to follow.

Danny was a native of Bogalusa and a lifelong resident of Picayune. He retired after thirty-four years of service from the Stennis Space Center as a mechanical technician and quality assurance technician for the Space Shuttle main engines. He loved his family and volunteering with the Maroon Tide Basketball Team of Picayune. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jewel Wheat and a brother-in-law, Joe Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wheat of Purvis; two daughters, Danielle (Jordan) Whittington of Columbia and Nicole (Jordan) Terry of Memphis; a sister, Brenda Davis of Purvis; three grandsons, Harper Whittington, Griffin Whittington, and Davis Terry.

Visitation for Danny will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Pine Grove Baptist Church.
