Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department arrested several people in a series of cases that involved drug related offenses late in July.

On July 22, patrol deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity at 38 Eaves Road. They arrived to find 21-year-old Gabrielle Trickett, who was acting in such a way that deputies had to take her into custody for disorderly conduct, Allison said.

While detaining her, a search of her person found drug paraphernalia, prompting them to call for narcotics investigators. When the investigators arrived, another vehicle pulled up to the home occupied by 36-year-old Jason Clements of 38 Eaves Rd., and 24-year-old Bradley Huff of 12 A. Laser Lane, Carriere. Huff was later arrested for no driver’s license, careless driving and possession of paraphernalia, which was found in plain view within the vehicle, Allison said. A subsequent search of the vehicle found methamphetamine and Xanax, leading  Clements to be arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of Xanax after investigative techniques determined the substances allegedly belonged to him.

Investigators also searched the home and found paraphernalia inside, leading Clements and Cricket to additionally be arrested for possession of paraphernalia.

On July 23, narcotics investigators went to a home at 1553 Section Line Road to speak with a county resident about complaints of alleged drug activity at the home, Allison said. When they arrived, Anna Andrews, 38, and Tony Herring, 38,  both of that address, spoke with the investigators. While speaking with them, the investigators noticed the smell of methamphetamine and saw some of the drug in plain sight, leading both to be arrested for possession of a controlled substance, Allison said.

The following day, investigators went to 126 Carey Kirkland Road in Poplarville to serve a search warrant where they found 29-year-old Codey Kirkland at the side of the home carrying an AR15 style weapon, Allison said. As the officers approached, he became combative leading to his arrest for disorderly conduct. During the search of the home, investigators found more firearms, marijuana, scales and paraphernalia in various locations throughout the property, Allison said.

Kirkland was additionally arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Allison said Kirkland was out on bond from a previous arrest on May 7, for the offense of cultivating marijuana, leading him to be held without bond for the most recent arrest, Allison said.

A separate incident on July 25, involved a joint operation between patrol deputies, narcotics investigators and criminal investigators with the Sheriff’s Department, along with agents with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The team went to serve a search warrant at 1637 Highway 11 S. due to complaints of alleged drug activity at the home, Allison said. When the law enforcement officials arrived, they found a number of individuals in the home. The search of the home turned up paraphernalia in various rooms, leading to the following people being arrested for possession of paraphernalia; Richard Kennedy 51, of 1637 Highway 11 S., Jacob Kennedy, 27, of 1637 Highway 11 S., Brian Kennedy, 48, of 1637 Highway 11 S., Nathan Douglas, 44, of 54 Davis Dawsey Rd., Patricia Dunfree, 27, of 9 North Fork Dr., and James Watkins, 54 of 1637 Highway 11 S.
