One man has been arrested and another is being identified for their alleged involvement in a string of burglaries that occurred along Neal Road in Picayune last week.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the case began with a report of several vehicle and home burglaries taking place at homes along Neal Road., Sealcrest Drive, Carriage Lane and Blue Herring Road on or about Aug. 14.

The investigators responded and ended up working reports of at least six burglaries, three were of a home and another three were of vehicles, although two of those vehicles were parked in front of the same home resulting in that instance being worked as one case, Ogden said.

Items taken in the burglaries involved jewelry and loose change.

Investigation into the crimes involved speaking with witnesses and residents in the area, combined with surveillance footage that helped establish 20-year-old Tadarius Holloway, of 2308 Trotter St. as a suspect. Investigators took him into custody for two counts of vehicle burglary on Aug. 16. Ogden said he was arrested for only two counts of vehicle burglary because two of the vehicles were parked in front of the same home.

Evidence collected from the residential burglaries is currently being tested by the state crime lab, so Ogden said there is a possibility that Holloway could face additional offenses.

The department is also looking into the possibility that a second suspect was involved, which could result in the arrest of a second suspect, Ogden said.

He said he would like to thank the Picayune Police Department and those in the community who came forward to assist in this case.

So far, none of the stolen property has been recovered.
