The Pearl River Valley Opportunity will be hosting Feeding the Gulf Coast next week where more than 100 boxes of food will be given out to the community.

PRVO Case Manager Lillie Crawford said the event will take place on July 9 starting at 12:30 and be held at the Raine Street Community Center in Poplarville located at 504 Raine Street.

Each box will contain a variety of nutritious foods including dairy products, frozen meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, beverages, shelf stable items and bakery products.

Crawford said that more than 100 boxes totaling 5,000 pounds of food will be given away at that time. She said the food will be given out until it’s gone, which typically takes only an hour or hour and half.
