Funeral service will be held Friday, June 14, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Merrill Chapel United Methodist Church in Poplarville, MS, for Mr. Lawrence “Bug” Parker Jr., age 72, of McComb, MS. Lawrence died June 9, 2019 in Gulfport, MS.  Burial will be in Rose Park Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.  A native of Poplarville, he was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church in McComb.  He served in the U.S. Marines.He retired from AT&T as an Engineer. Lawrence graduated from Todd Memorial High School in Poplarvillewhere he played high school football. He graduated from Alcorn State University.  Survivors include; 2 sons,Steven and daughter-in-law Victoria Parker and Lawrence Parker III, all of McComb; 1 daughter, Robin Parker of McComb; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie, Sabria, D’Merial, Jaylon, Samaria, Tyrus; 2 great–grandchildren, Maddie and Abigail; 2 sisters, Mary Parker, Claudette and brother-in-law Allen Young, all of Poplarville; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Preceded in death by parents Lawrence Sr., and Mary Parker. Visitation will be held on June 14, 2019 from noon until 1 p.m. at Merrill Chapel United Methodist Church, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
