The Pearl River County Historical Society is inviting the public to attend a presentation that will be provided by representatives of the Historic New Orleans Collection.

Historical Society member Don Wicks said that Robert Ticknor with the Historic New Orleans Collection will be at the Hilda Hoffman Memorial Archive, located at 301 Williams Ave., Picayune, on June 1 at noon.

Wicks said the one to two hour presentation will cover the resources available at the Historic New Orleans Collection and the archeology of the area. The facility also houses information about the history of New Orleans and some archival data on family history. Wicks said the organization also offers a museum on Royal Street.  During his presentation, Ticknor will speak about the archival information at the Historic New Orleans Collection and how to gain access to it. Wicks said that information may be of interest to Pearl River County residents because their heritage could be traced back to the Big Easy.

The program will start with an hour presentation by Ticknor and follow up with a question and answer session afterward. Snacks will be provided.
