Funeral services for Ms. Zulla Mae Haralson Gilmore, age 73, of Picayune, MS will be held Friday, April 19, 2019, at noon at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 2106 Walker St., Picayune.  Pastor Michael Kelley will officiate.

Sis. Zulla Mae Haralson Gilmore was born to the late Tommy J. Haralson and Georgia M. Carter Haralson on January 18, 1946, in Bassfield, MS. She was the first of eight children.

She was baptized at an early age at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jessie James, where she remained a member until her health failed. On February 24, 1964, Sis. Zulla M. Haralson Gilmore united in holy matrimony to R. W. Gilmore, and to this union three children were born; Michael L. Gilmore Haralson, Anthony D. Gilmore and Sheila L. Morris.

She was a 1964 graduate of George Washington Carver School. She medically retired from Brockway Standard.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bro. R. W. Gilmore; father, Bro. Tommy J. Haralson, Sr. and brother, Rev. T. J. Haralson, Jr.

Sis. Zulla leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sons, Michael L. (Demetria) Haralson and Anthony D. (Lisa) Gilmore; daughter, Sheila L. (Kelvin) Morris; mother, Georgia M. Haralson; two god-children, Temeka Myers and Robert L. Porter, Jr.; five sisters, Mrs. Tommie Lou (James) McIver, Mrs. Polly (Rev. Donald) Parker, Ms. Georgia Stuart, Ms. Susie Wilson and Ms. Cheryl Cooper and Ms. Jettie Robinson; two brothers, Rev. Thomas (Mary) Haralson and Mr. E. J. Haralson, Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Aurthur L. (Mable) Gilmore and Odell McGill; seven sisters-in-law, Mary Catherine Pickens, Sis. Barbara Haralson, Callie Sue Gilmore, Georgia Gilmore, Earnestine Cole, Christine Gilmore and Vera McGill; eight grandchildren, Martez Williams, Chancellor Griffin, Keontra Jones, Allen Gilmore, Michael Haralson, Jr., Xaiver Gilmore, D’Marcus Haralson and Zula Gilmore Lobede; ten great-grandchildren; three aunts, Christine McDonald, Ellaness Thompson and Audrey Haralson; the Herrin Drive Community, a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Visitation will be held at from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery, Picayune, MS.
