Funeral Services for Mary Catharine “Cathy” Waters, age 72, of Picayune, MS who passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 will be held Wednesday, April  24, 2019 at 11:00 am at Unity Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April  24, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Unity Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Unity Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Shad Kennedy and Rev. Casey Williams will officiate the service.

A native of Jefferson Parish, LA, she was a Teacher and a lifelong educator. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Picayune, MS. Cathy was a devout Christian, who loved serving Christ with all of her heart, and sharing the Gospel in everything she did. She was a member of The Picayune Piecemakers quilting guild and a former President of the Jefferson Parish Library Board. Cathy was a Titus 2 woman, who loved and served her family. She opened her home weekly to numerous individuals. Cathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruffin Trousdale Perkins and Betty Neutz Perkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Daniel “Dan” R.E. Waters; her children, John Edward (Laura) Waters, IV, Theresa Rebecca  “Terrie” (Dared) Jones, and Mary Catharine “Kate” (Casey) Williams; her 7 grandchildren, Ayla Williams, Olivia Jones, Taylor Jones, Chandler Williams, Caleb Jones, Caden Williams, and Noah Jones; and her brothers and sisters, Skeeter (Beth) Perkins, Jane Jennings, Earnest (Sandy) Perkins, and Billy (Helina) Perkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
