Daniel J. Dauzat, Sr.

Daniel J. Dauzat, Sr., 75, born on May 23, 1944, a longtime resident of Avondale, Louisiana and Carriere, Mississippi died peacefully at his home in Carriere surrounded by his loving wife and children. 

He was the son of the late Paul Dauzat and the late Adele Guillot Dauzet, the brother of the late O’neal Dauzat, the late Diana Lemoine, the late Peggy Laborde, the late Genevieve Cunningham, the late Joetta Herbet, and the grandfather of the late Alyssa Dauzat and Alexis Lamartina.

The beloved husband of Jeannette Dauzat and father of Paula Dauzat, Tammy Haase (Chuck), Daniel Dauzat, Jr. (Dana), Brian Dauzat (Kim).  He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Desota and Patsy Swann, his brother, Donald (Paul) Dauzat and Todd Herbet; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many close friends.

Daniel was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2019.  His devoted and loving wife of 55 years never left his side.  She exemplified the role of caretaker.  A profound testament of true love.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Memorial Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1000 Goodyear Blvd., Picayune, Mississippi 39466 on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12:00 Noon.  Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
