Funeral services for Charles Ray Phillip Bonds, 54, will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Lighthouse International Pentecostal Church. The pastor, Elder Harvey Bernard will officiate at the service.

Charles Ray Phillip Bonds was born on September 25, 1964 to the late Rayford and Arie Bonds in Smithdale, MS.  He departed this earthly  life on March 3, 2019 at his residence.

Charles was fondly known by many names:  Mr. Charles, Uncle Bubba, Fish, and Phillip.  He accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, Class of 1984 and was employed at Dependable Auto Parts through Millcreek Rehabilitation Center.  Charles loved to visit people and although he didn’t remember names, he always remembered faces.  When things didn’t go his way, he would always say “I ain’t gonna worry about it.” Even still, he always managed to get done what he needed by telling the next person exactly what he wasn’t gonna be worried about.”  Everyone took pride in helping him get exactly what he needed.  Charles was very well known in the local community and the community always took care of him as he walked or rode his bike each day. He will be truly missed by his family and friends in Picayune.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Frenchie Bell, Betty Wilson and Dorothy Bonds and one brother, Paul Bonds.

He now leaves to carry on his legacy and the memories of his family; one loving brother, Elder Freddie (Jerri) Bonds of McComb, MS; four devoted sisters, Mary Gray, Sandy (Kenneth) Fortenberry and Brenda Joseph, all of Picayune, and Linda (Clayton) Joseph of Birmingham, AL; one special friend, Guy; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery.

Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
