Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department arrested four people in two separate cases, both of which involved drug offenses.

Sheriff David Allison said that on Feb. 7, narcotics investigators and representatives with the Mississippi Department of Corrections traveled to the home of 41-year-old Timothy Lester Kennedy, located at 73 Cedar Hill Lane, Carriere, to serve him with a warrant for failure to report.

Investigators took Kennedy into custody for the warrant and found another person inside the home, 46-year-old Darby Lauriane Watkins, of 46 Darby Lane, Carriere. An inspection of the home found methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia, leading to both suspects being arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Allison said.

On Jan. 29, narcotics investigators conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Jackson Landing Road and U.S. 11 when the driver failed to use a turn signal, Allison said.

During the stop, the investigators detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, leading to a search. Allison said that during the search, the investigators found a personal amount of marijuana in the vehicle, and a felony amount of methamphetamine in the possession of the vehicle’s passenger, 30-year-old John K. Whitney of 162 Blue Bird Lane.

The driver, 44-year-old Harley Robinson of 31 Preacher Hill Rd., Apt. B, was arrested for improper turn failure to signal and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, while the passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a probation warrant with MDOC, Allison said.
