Funeral Services for Mary R. Lambert, age 87, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Dan Young will officiate the service.

A native of Monticello, MS, and lived the majority of her life in Picayune. In 1962, Mary and Jim moved to Picayune and opened Gibson’s Pharmacy, which they owned and operated until their retirement. Mary was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. Mary also volunteered at several places in Picayune. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Ready and Mary Sturgis Ready; her husband, James “Jim” L. Lambert, Sr.; her son, James “Jimmy” L. Lambert, Jr.; her grandson, Dr. James “Jamie” L. Lambert, III; and her brother, Jon D. Ready.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Spiers and husband, BoBy; her niece, Sallie Wilson and husband Richard; 6 granddaughters, Angie (John) Sims, Lisa (Phillip) Webb, Jill (Rick) Gwin, Laura (Bill) Craig, Amanda (Neil) Sanford, and Olivia (David) Neal; 14 great grandchildren; one great granddaugher on the way; and one great great granddaughter on the way.
