Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Jerry Lee Ross.  Rev. Donald Lynn Parker is Pastor. Elder Donald Ray Hart will officiate at the service.

Jerry Lee was born on August 7, 1962, to the late Henrene Meeks and James Wesley Ross in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Leflore High School in Itta Bena, MS, where he was an outstanding athlete who was known for his fast pitch ball, and also received a full athletic scholarship to Kentucky State University.

Jerry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. After relocating to Picayune, he reunited his faith with Newness of Life Ministries under the leadership of Rev. Donald Ray Hart.  This is also where he found the love of his life, Cynthia Bester. On August 5, 2017 they were joined in holy matrimony.

He was a jolly person who enjoyed life. He loved his children and stepchildren. He was a people person who always wore a warm smile.

Jerry ended his earthly journey on Friday, February 1, 2019 in Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leonard, Robert and Willie James Ross.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memories; a loving and devoted wife, Cynthia Ross; one son, Jamal Ross of Chicago, IL and one stepson, Dewayne Bester of Picayune; three daughters, Jasmine Ross of Chicago, IL, Orteka Warren and Kyla Ollie, both of Itta Bena, MS; three stepdaughters,  Casey Smith (Robert) of Mobile, AL, Shronda Bester and Destiny Bester both of Picayune; two brothers, AW Ross (Mattie) of Picayune and Sam Ross (Penny) of Jackson, MS; seven sisters, Sallye Barfield (Jessie) of Los Angeles, CA, Hattie Johnson (Carl) of Westchester, IL, Mae Dean Myers (Eddie) of Downers, IL, Eva Langston (Steve) of Bellwood, IL, Senora Wilson of Clarksville, IN, Ziporah Ross of Chicago, IL and Ruby Lindsey (Charles) of Clinton, MS;  two brothers-in-law, Charles (Barbara) McGill and Albert McGill of Picayune; six sisters-in-law, Betty Mark, Mary (Thomas) Blanks, Linda McGill and Belinda McGill of Picayune, MS Daisy (Matthew) Evans of Houston, TX, Kathleen Rawls of Gulfport, MS;10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery.
