Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Lee Darden, age 76, of Picayune, MS , a native of Kemper County, MS, will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 10, 2019 embraced by his loving son and devoted wife.

Apostle Johnnie Ball will officiate at the service, assisted by Pastor Donald L.    Parker. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Lula Mae Darden; his two brothers, Lonnie B. Darden and Emmit Lee Darden; his two sisters, Rose Johnson and Eurie Lee Creer.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Mrs. Ollie Jean Darden; four loving sons, Sammy Davis (Suzanne) Gowdy, John Timothy (Rebecca) Darden, Gary Levell Darden, Julius Keith Darden; three darling daughters Linda Faye (Arthur) Darden, Sophia Terrell Darden and Jacqueline Michelle Darden; two brothers, Sammy (Donna) Darden, and Willie Ray Darden; eight sisters, Earlie Mae Lewis, Della Mae (Jessie) Hill, Shirley Ann Walker, Mammie Lee Walker, Sandra Faye Darden, Martha Darden, Mary (Harold) Joseph and Dorothy Jean Burton; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery, Picayune, MS.
