Funeral Services for Ella Mae Downes, age 97, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Dan Young will officiate the service.

A native of Pearl River County, MS, she was a  Teacher Aide and a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church .

She was preceded in death by her father, William Franklin Furr, mother, Annie Inez Johnson Furr, husband, Mansfield L. Downes, daughter, Della Jeanette Freeman, daughter, Geraldine “Gerry” Downes, sister, Della Gay Powell, brother, Robert Eugene Furr, brother, Arthur Carl Furr, brother, Willie “Otto” Furr.

Left to cherish her memory are her 2 grandchildren, Rebecca (Doug) Hendricks, and Jonathan Freeman, 3 great grandchildren, Kyra Hendricks, Adele Hendricks, and Jackman Hendricks, sister-in-law, Lottie Furr, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
