From then until the deadline of April 15, qualifying residents can bring their tax documents on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sykes said the service will be offered on a first come, first served basis, and will assist residents with filing their state and federal income taxes.

While most residents typically file the 1040 form, Sykes said that the tax preparers will be able to assist with any form of filing method.

“Just come and get your taxes done,” Sykes said.

The Senior Center of South Pearl River County offers a number of events for locals, such as karaoke and other social activities as well as workshops and dance classes.  Staff at the Senior Center are also preparing for a Valentine’s Dance, which will be held closer to Valentine’s Day. Sykes said the dances are very popular with the visitors.
