Community complaints of suspected drug activity led to the arrest of a Picayune man for allegedly distributing marijuana and cocaine from his home.

According to a release from the Picayune Police Department, detectives served a search warrant at the home of 35-year-old Brandon Lamont Myers, aka “Chip”, located at 628 Charlotte Dr., on Dec. 4, as a result of the evidence collected due to the complaint.

While serving the warrant, an agent with the Mississippi Department of Corrections assisted because Myers was on parole for previous drug convictions, the release states. 

Detectives and the agent detained Myers and searched the home, finding a “safe” created out of an old salt container, a BB gun, axe, liquor flasks, several hand rolled cigars containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana and foil and a plastic bag with a residue suspected to be from cocaine.

Inside the salt container, detectives found a plastic bag with Xanax pills and crack cocaine. In the residence, detectives also found plastic bags containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, a digital scale and .45 caliber bullets.

Myers was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a school or church, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, the release states. MDOC placed a hold on Myers as well, the release states.
