Even though kickoff isn’t until 3:25 that evening, attendees are invited to come to the event starting at noon to enjoy the numerous food vendors, games and listen in on a podcast from Talking Ball Y’all featuring local football coaches from area teams.

Chamber Director Terry Farr said that the podcast will feature Picayune Memorial High School Assistant Football Coach Cody Stogner, Poplarville High School Head Football Coach Jay Beech, Pearl River Central High School Head Football Coach Jacob Owen and Pearl River Community College Head Football Coach Ted Egger. The podcast will start at 1 p.m. and last for about two hours. Farr said it will be broadcast on the big screen as it happens.

Games during the event will include cornhole and the availability of footballs to toss around.

In addition to the food vendors, Farr said the Chamber will offer sodas and adult beverages for sale.

Security for the event will be provided by the Picayune Police Department.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for a new car. Farr said the raffle is a fundraiser by the Chamber to use as seed money that will establish leadership and mentorship programs for young people, and scholarships in the future.

Tickets are $50 a piece, and only 1,500 will be sold for the duration of the fundraiser. Farr said the winning ticket will be drawn on Dec. 14 at Crosby Commons during movie night. The winner of the drawing will be able to choose from one 2019 model year of six vehicles, including a Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Trax, Buick Encore, Nissan Versa, Nissan Sentra or Nissan Altima, from Mossy of Picayune and Nissan of Picayune. Tickets for the fundraiser can also be purchased from the Chamber office by calling 601-798-3122 or visiting the office, located at 201 Hwy. 11 North in Picayune.
