Picayune dominates West Harrison 62-3

Picayune—— The Picayune Maroon Tide scored early and often this past Friday night when they cruised past West Harrison 62-3.

The Tide moved to a 4-2 recored and are now 2-0 on district play.

The Maroon Tide offense was relentless against the Hurricanes, earning 500 yards of total offense on the night.

Running back Jairice Travis got the night started for the Tide, running in a 5-yard touchdown with 7:44 left in the first quarter; kicker Issac Brice knocked the extra point in giving the Tide a 7-0 lead.

The Tide’s special teams got in on the action with a blocked punt on the ensuing West Harrison possession.

What followed was a five play drive capped off by 3-yard touchdown run from running back Winston Drain with 4:42 left in the first quarter.

Brice’s extra point was good, giving the Tide a 14-0 lead.

West Harrison would counter with a time consuming drive that resulted in a 23-yard field goal with 44 seconds left in the first quarter.

Greg Swan would set the Tide up with great field position on the ensuing kickoff and six plays later, standout running back Jortin Raine would find the end zone on a 17-yard run.

Brice would punch in the PAT to make it 21-3 Picayune.

Raine would once again score for the Tide on a 15-yard run to the end zone, Brice would make the PAT making the score 28-3 with 1:30 left in the half.

Running back Juvonta Raymond would start the scoring for the Tide in the second half with a 31-yard scamper into the end zone with 11:07 left in the third quarter.

Brice’s PAT was no good.

The Tide wouldn’t be finished however, as Raine would score his third touchdown of the night in the third quarter.

Issac Hickman would find his number called with a 1 yard touchdown run.

Jairice Travis would end the night for the Tide with two touchdown runs of 28 yards and 1-yard.
