Five arrested during roundup in county

A year’s worth of investigation resulted in the arrest of five remaining suspects for drug related violations.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division Supervisor Sgt. Ryan Stachura said that about six suspects wanted as part of that investigation are still wanted.

Arrested during Thursday’s early morning roundup were: 30-year-old John Alsobrooks of 9 Star Lane, Carriere; 48-year-old Harvey Singletary of 106 Lilac Dr., Nicholson; 38-year-old Jessee Burnett of 930 Clover Circle, Picayune; 43-year-old Sonya Bradstreet of 155 Whitehead Lane, Carriere and 31-year-old Jacob Whitehead of 155 Whitehead Lane, Carriere.

A Departmental release states that Alsobrooks was arrested for two counts of sale of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and two counts of conspiracy to sell a controlled substance; Singletary was arrested for sale of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and conspiracy to sell a controlled substance; Burnett was arrested for three counts of sale of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and three counts of conspiracy to sell a controlled substance; Whitehead was arrested for two counts of sale of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and two counts of conspiracy to sell a controlled substance and Bradstreet was arrested for three counts of sale of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and three counts of conspiracy to sell a controlled substance.

Satchura said it took about three hours to conduct the operation that morning.

Additional suspects were identified as part of the investigation, but had already been picked up prior to Thursday.

All of the suspects have since been released on bond, except for Burnett, Satchura said.
