God has smiled on me, He has set me free…

Funeral service for Betty Jean Graham, 71, will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Harvey Bernard will officiate at the service.

Betty was born in Poplarville, MS on December 29, 1946 to the late George and Mattie Mills Graham.

She was a graduate of Poplarville High School and attended college in Wisconsin. She was a faithful member of Church of the Way for over 30 years under the leadership of Pastor Bill Jackson and Pastor Curtis Merritt. She was a faithful Deaconess and also one of the leaders for the Community Children’s Outreach in Picayune. Betty’s previous employment includes The Movie Star in Poplarville, Gambino’s Restaurant in Slidell, and finally John C. Stennis Space Center in Bay St. Louis, MS where she retired.

On August 29, 2018 God dispatched his angels to claim his very own. She is preceded in death by her parents, George & Mattie Graham; brother, David Graham; and sister, Brenda K. Harris.

Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories, two daughters, Markethia Lynn Graham and Rosalind Renee’ Graham, both of Picayune, MS; three sisters, Evelyn Graham of Newark, NJ, Linda (Charlie) Gaulden, and Deborah Graham, both of Picayune; three brothers, Ray Graham, of Hattiesburg, MS, George Graham, Jr., of Lumberton, MS and Rickey Graham, of Poplarville; her aunts, Maybelle Mills, Nancy Magee, and Bertille Mills, all of Poplarville, MS; adoptive brother, Joe “Drag” Louis, of Slidell; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Also cherishing memories are two special friends, LaWanda Pruitt and Lina Smith, both of Picayune.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
